UMW Purpose

The organized unit of the United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participating in the global ministries of the church.

The FUMC unit consists of 9 circles:

Circle #1	Martha Fredrick 704-853-1869; Sherry Stacy 704-864-9651 (contact persons) Meets the 1st Monday each month @ 10:30 a.m. in the church parlor or homes 60+ age women – Social, educational and service
Circle #3	Amy Plowden – 704 865-8983 (contact person) Meets the 3rd Monday @ 2:30 pm Assembly Room at Covenant Village Ongoing study of the women of the Bible, fellowship & short program
Circle #7	Judith Towner 704-865-4276 (contact person) Meets the 1st Monday @ 7:00 pm in the church parlor Social, educational, and mission for women of all ages
Circle #8	Carol Elliott 704-864-6109 (contact person) Meets the 1st Monday @ 10:30 a.m. in the Hospitality Room Fellowship, mission, and service for women 55+ and all ages welcome
Circle #9	Sharon Pendergast 704-867-3923; Rosemarie Nivens 704-867-9010 (contact persons) Meets the 1st Monday @ 7:00 p.m. in members’ homes Social and Mission oriented
Circle #10	Betty Moser 704-864-3038; Beth Stanforth 704-865-1456 (contact persons) Meets the 2nd Wednesdays @ 6:00 pm in the church parlor as needed Service Projects – members of all ages

 
General meetings are held every other month as either a luncheon meeting or a dinner meeting.   If needed, childcare can be provided. Circle members participate in decorating and serving at the general meetings and annually rotate the months for refurbishing the pew pockets in the sanctuary.
